As part of its commitment to broadening the horizons of scientific cooperation and engaging with international academic experiences, the Technical Engineering College for Oil and Energy – Al-Muthanna, one of the constituent colleges of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, organized a specialized symposium entitled (Smart Cities). The symposium was presented by visiting Professor Dr. Towhid Starpor from Urmia University – Iran.
The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Sadiq Hassan Al-Lawzi, received the visiting guest, in the presence of the Administrative Assistant, reaffirming the College’s dedication to attracting scientific expertise and strengthening channels of communication with international universities.
The symposium addressed the concepts of smart cities and their modern applications, as well as the role of advanced technologies in energy management and the development of urban infrastructure, thereby contributing to the support of sustainable development and the enhancement of service quality.
The symposium witnessed attendance by faculty members and staff, and was interspersed with scholarly discussions that emphasized the importance of adopting modern technical solutions in advancing service and engineering sectors.
At the conclusion of the symposium, the College’s Deanery honored the visiting professor in appreciation of his scholarly contribution and in recognition of his role in strengthening academic cooperation between the two universities. In turn, the guest expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception and excellent organization, commending this academic collaboration between the two institutions.
