Establishment of the Department
The Department of Drilling and Oil/Gas Production Engineering Technologies was officially established at Al‑Furat Al‑Awsat Technical University (FUAT) for the academic year 2025/2026. The Department was founded with the primary objective of providing distinguished engineering competencies in the specialized field of Drilling and Oil/Gas Production Engineering Technologies.
Through the collective dedication, expertise, and resources of its faculty members and staff, the Department is committed to fulfilling the demands of national industries for qualified engineering professionals across a range of industrial sectors, including petroleum rock characterization, oil and gas well drilling, gas technology, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods.
In addition to its industrial service role, the Department is dedicated to making essential contributions to the advancement of scientific knowledge and to embracing the frontiers of emerging technologies through its comprehensive undergraduate academic programs.
