In Activation of the Provisions of the Memoranda of Understanding Concluded Between Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and Iran’s Amirkabir University of Technology, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, Chaired an Expanded Meeting with the University’s Senior Staff, Attended by the Vice Presidents of the University, the Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department, the Director of the Scientific Affairs Department, and the Director of the Technological Incubators Department, to Discuss the Draft Contract Sent by Amirkabir University Pertaining to the Establishment of a Technological Incubator at the Headquarters of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
The meeting addressed the means of benefiting from the advanced expertise and experiences possessed by Amirkabir University in the fields of technological incubators, entrepreneurship, and innovation, and working to transfer this experience to Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, thereby contributing to laying the cornerstone for a distinctive and unique project at the level of Iraqi universities, in cooperation and coordination with the Iranian side.
The project aims to harness the scientific and creative potentials of students and researchers, incubate their innovative ideas and projects, and transform them into viable ventures, as well as to enhance their capabilities in line with labor market requirements, and open new horizons for them in the fields of entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation, thereby contributing to building a knowledge-based economy.
The President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, emphasized the importance of the project in supporting the University’s orientation toward innovation and linking the outputs of education and scientific research with the needs of the labor market, noting the necessity of thoroughly studying the contract and submitting all proposals and observations that align with the legal frameworks and applicable regulations, ensuring the preservation of the rights and interests of both universities and achieving a balanced and sustainable institutional partnership.
The meeting also stressed the importance of establishing clear mechanisms for the implementation of the project and defining roles, responsibilities, and areas of cooperation, as well as benefiting from the cumulative expertise and experiences of Amirkabir University, ensuring the achievement of the desired objectives of establishing the incubator and enhancing the standing of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer.
This project comes within the framework of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s orientation toward expanding its international partnerships and activating the memoranda of understanding concluded with global universities and academic institutions, thereby enhancing its scientific and technological capacities and supporting its journey in serving students, researchers, society, and the labor market.
